Dear
Parents and Guardians:
The
final Dateline of the 2008-2009 school year has come
entirely too quickly. It seems like it was just August,
and we were welcoming students to school. As we bring
this school year to an end, it affords us a great
opportunity to give thanks and recognition to the many
that have made this year and countless others so
special.

Congratulations Ayden Burnett!

Congratulations to our very own Ayden Burnett in 3rd
grade. He recently received the Sacramento Youth Inspire
Award, for his inspiring and selfless act of kindness to
a boy he will never meet. Way to go Ayden!

5th Annual FCUSD Track & Field Meet |

Participation forms are gradually being
returned. They are due to Mr. Morning by Friday,
May 1.
Any student in grades 4, 5 & 6 can participate.
There is no cost to participate in the meet. We
are still looking for parents to participate in
the
4x100 meter relays. If you are interested,
please contact Mr. Morning at
kmorning@fcusd.org.
Finally, Mr. Morning is in need of
staging personnel for the meet. He needs 6
parents that can put kids in lanes for races
that evening. Thank you.
On Monday, May 4th at 6:30pm, please
join us for our last PTA General Meeting of
the 2008-2009 school year. If you have ever considered
chairing an event or have ideas for events you would
like to see at Sundahl, please come and share them with
the PTA Board. If you have any questions, please contact
Kristin Rost at
kristonrost@sbcglobal.net.

With the continued budget
cuts, the school is need of
various items. Each month in
the Dateline we will publish
a donation item of the month
that will be utilized for
the teachers, students and
office staff. If you would
like to contribute, please
drop off your donation in

Choices: It’s OK to Make
a Mistake, but You Have to
Use ATM
Some people are burdened
with guilt over their past
mistakes and can’t forgive
themselves. Some people have
no guilt at all because they
blame others or deny their
mistakes. This last lesson
of the year focused on
students making the choice
to ask for forgiveness as
well as taking
responsibility for their
mistakes.

| WeTip
School Safety Program |
Carl
Sundahl Elementary School
participates in the WeTip School
Safety Program, which is a joint
effort by law enforcement, students,
families, and school district
personnel to provide a safe school
environment. WeTip is an anonymous,
24-hour hotline for parents,
students, staff, and community
members to report school-related
crimes and suspicious incidents.
This includes vandalism, arson, drug
use, bullying, and theft. There is a
potential reward of up to $1,000 if
there is an arrest and conviction.
Please help keep our schools safe by
reporting suspicious activities
immediately. If you see something or
know something, call the police or
the WeTip hotline. Working together,
we can keep our students and schools
safe. If you or your child wants to
report a crime or suspicious
incident, call the toll-free number,
1-800-78-CRIME, at any time of the
day, 365 days a year. More
information can be found at
www.wetip.com.
